| Single Opt-in: only requires
someone to fill out a webform or send a subscription
request before he or she is added to the list. Its the
fastest and easiest way to add members to a subscriber
list. |

| Double Opt-in: requires two steps
before the person is added to the list - the first
subscribe request (e.g. filling out a webform) and a
confirmation email. MailList
Controller sends a message after the user
subscribed. The user simply replies to this message and
the program adds the user to the list. Its also called
"Confirmed Opt-In". |
| Autoresponder: is an automatic
reply sent by the e-mail software after receipt of a
message or request. MailList
Controller uses autoresponders to send out a message
after a new member has subscribed or unsubcribed to a
distribution list. |

MailList Controller Managed List

List members are stored in an internal database,
which is managed by MailList
Controller. The program can use a MS Access database
or an ODBC connection (MS SQL, ...) as internal
database. This type of list is right for you, if
new members should be able to subscribe/remove, e.g.
using a webform. There are 15 custom fields available
for personalization. The import function allows to
import subscribers from most popular database formats.

Linked to an External Data Source List
(Linked List)
In this mode MailList Controller links to an external
data source and retrieves the subscribers from the
external database when sending out an email newsletter
message. Use this type of list, if you already maintain
a database which should be used, e.g. customer database.
The mailing list management
software opens the external database in read-only
mode and will not change the external data. You can use
up to 15 fields from the external database for
personalization.

Database Viewer

MailList Controller provides all the tools you will
need to manage your email mailing
lists successfully. The built-in database and member
viewer provides full flexibility in editing or searching
for list members. The import function can import
recipients from popular database formats: MS Access, MS
Excel, ODBC (MS SQL, MySQL, ...) and plain-text (CSV
format) . The export function saves your list
members in MS Access format.
